3DP-Jmol meets Proteopedia!

Exciting news — the 3DP-Jmol tool, developed by Dr. Marius Mihășan (Romanian Society of Bioinformatics – RSBI) and Dr. Ángel Herráez (University of Alcalá, Alcalá de Henares, Spain), is now integrated into Proteopedia in collaboration with Dr. Jaime Prilusky (Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel).

This integration introduces a Print3D tool within every Proteopedia molecular scene, allowing users to instantly generate 3D-printable molecular models directly from the page. It bridges the gap between molecular visualization and 3D printing, empowering educators, students, and researchers to bring molecular structures to life.

This recognition places Romania on the international map of computational biology and bioinformatics and strengthens our connections with the global scientific community. As an ISCB Regional Affiliate, we will collaborate more closely with other regional groups, contribute to international educational initiatives, and promote Romanian bioinformatics at a global level.
